Therapy

I think everyone should have a therapist! We all experience a range of challenges and bad mental health times and everyone needs support sometimes. I have experience working with intergenerational trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, autism and adhd, depression, anxiety, addiction, self harm and suicidal ideation, and overwhelm. I am also keen on working with LGBTIQ people to navigate identity exploration, the impact of homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia on mental health, and supporting parents who have LGBTIQ kids and want to learn more.

Perinatal Mental Health

Having a baby is a time of massive change. It’s a time where we often want to do things differently than the way we were parented, and at the same time are stretched to our absolute limits and struggle to do things the way we’d like. Becoming a parent often brings up deeply held core beliefs, old patterns, and fear of failure. If you are struggling with mental health in pregnancy or postpartum, the constant load of parenting a tiny human, or being spread more thinly than you’ve ever been before, this therapy is for you.

Perinatal sessions usually occur in the comfort of your own home and I encourage you to attend to your little one’s needs without guilt or shame. Sessions are not limited to one hour, I often find that 90 minutes or two hours gives the time and space to really bring out the underlying “big stuff” and make sure you are feeling together again and safe by the time we finish.

Family Support

Families often have competing needs and it can be difficult to find a balance that works for everyone. Family support involves working with the family as a whole to identify challenges, provide education and parenting support, scaffolding and structure for all family members (not just the kids!) and build a sense of shared understanding and empathy.

I can also offer the incredible Circle of Security program delivered one-on-one or to several adult family members as part of a regular therapy session.

NDIS Social Work

I can work with a range of NDIS clients who have goals around capacity building, emotional regulation, psychosocial functioning, interpersonal effectiveness, skill development…honestly lots of different stuff! This can look like talk therapy with a focus on skill building, scaffolding and structuring parts of your life to improve functioning, or working within a support team to help navigate more complex situations.

I am experienced with NDIS language and work within a “capacity building” framework, aligned with your goals, in order to meet criteria for NDIS funding.
